Brewcon was developed from the need to integrate brewery control elements with our accounting system (Sage 50). Outstanding issues were the lack of beer duty calculation and a suitable discount structure. Once development started we realised that many more everyday functions could be incorporated. The original application was a simple cask database which remains the core of the sales side of Brewcon. All casks whether full, empty, allocated or in trade are easily located in the system. The sales module can allocate product to a customer, reduce usable stock, generate invoices automatically (with extensive discount systems) and post to Sage 50 at the press of a button. Cask tracking is integral but can be turned off if necessary. Casks swaps and ecasks can all be accommodated. Cask tracking can be manual or by a barcoding system. The brewing side helps with recipe formulation and records data on every brew. Ingredients are fully traceable and stocks are automatically updated. Records can be searched for ingredients and gyles, and stocks can be assessed for future brews so that you will never run out of ingredients. Financial reports include beer duty, credits (with ullage calculator), discount, product per month and profit and loss. Combined with Sage 50 or Sage Instant Accounts this is the ultimate microbrewery business control system. Accountancy is provided by Sage products from Instant Accounts to the Sage 50 range. Brewcon will do the work of at least one person and is the most affordable brewery management system on the market.
